It has a turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 296 horsepower and 400 Newton-meters of torque. To attain the quicker time at the Nurburgring and attack the hot hatchback lap record, the Megane RS Trophy-R goes on a diet to shed 130kg. The model purportedly has no rear seats and comes standard with a roll cage both for safety on the track and for adding stiffness. It also has Plexiglas windows. The company promises "reworked aerodynamics and a more radical development of its drive axles." For this automobile, Renault Sport engineers pushed their expertise more than ever before. Just 500 of these Trophy-R models were built, being a highly exclusive of the Renault Sport Mégane.
